\”From Street to Suite\” (my presentation for the PornHub Sex Worker Safety Conference)
This is a talk I created to share with folk who have higher risk of being targeted by stalkers, violent exes, or others with prying eyes and a sense of entitlement. It was presented on January 9th, 2021 as part of the Sex Worker Safety Conference sponsored by PornHub. (Huge thanks to DommeKat, Lola Jean, and everyone else behindthescenes who worked so hard to bring that event together amid everything else that was going on in the world the time!)
I wrote this talk while I was working behind the SWOP table at the Woodhull Summit in Washington DC a few years ago and have privately shared it among networks of dancers, cam models, actors, escorts, and other sex workers who are often targeted by those who don’t respect boundaries.
Many of my hacker folk will already know a lot of the exploits in this video. But many of my sex worker friends have been agog when learning of the vulnerabilities I cover in this presentation. Giving knowledge like this to as many people as possible in order to raise awareness of these issues and, more importantly, in order to afford everyone an understanding of the often easy solutions to protect themselves from these risks matters a great deal to me.
This video is laggy in a few spots because this was an online presentation, but hopefully it’s valuable to you. Stay safe out there!

Williamsburg Place Lecture Series
The Farley Center and The Pavilion host monthly professional workshops for area providers. These cutting edge presentations feature information on addiction, ethics, dual diagnosis, codependency, military and addiction, eating disorders, assessment, and process disorders. Workshops are held on the 4th Friday of each month from 9:00 am 11:00 am on the campus of Williamsburg Place.
OVERVIEW
This presentation provides nonjudgmental insight into the hypersexuality/sexual addiction diagnosis and its relationship to early attachment trauma(s) and problems with adult intimacy and sexuality. It provides a diagnostic overview, review of common addictive sexual acting out behaviors and frequently presenting negative life consequences including drug and alcohol addiction relapse. The influence of internet based sex and porn on sexual addiction will be discussed. Attendees will receive a high level overview of the pending DSM 5 hypersexuality diagnosis, differential diagnosis and an understanding of sexual addiction as a “process addiction.” Clear direction will be offered toward directing clients and their spouse toward self/relationship healing and sexual sobriety, useful reading and referral information.
Provide and define current definition for hypersexual disorder/sexual addiction as proposed for the DSM 5 and describe three characteristic symptoms of the disorder.
Identify two of the possible origins of sexually addictive behavior and define “sexual sobriety.”
Identify three basic referral resources and information including: Selfhelp groups, review of the 12 step programs, online resources and useful articles and books.
Attendees will gain insight into the psychodynamics of the nonaddicted spouse and list three possible coping strategies at disclosure/discovery.
Discuss two shock/trauma reactions of the nonaddicted spouse related to discovery of infidelity and interventions for containment.

Robert Weiss LCSW, CSATS is Director of Intimacy and Sexual Disorders Programs for Elements Behavioral Health, whose programs include – The Ranch in Nunnelly Tennessee, Promises Treatent Centers \u0026 The Sexual Recovery Institute in California, which Rob founded in 1995. A UCLA MSW graduate and personal trainee of Dr. Patrick Carnes, Mr. Weiss is author of Cruise Control Understanding Sex Addiction in Gay Men and coauthor of both Untangling the Web and Cybersex Exposed with Dr. Jennifer Schneider. A media expert to CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, the NY Times, LA Times and the Today Show among many others, Mr. Weiss also provides professional sexual addiction training and program development for the US military and multiaddiction treatment centers around the United States, Europe and Asia.
